RESOLUTION NO. 2396
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE 
TOWN OF WICKENBURG, MARICOPA AND YAVAPAI 
COUNTIES, ARIZONA, ADOPTING A VISION ZERO GOAL OF 
ZERO TRAFFIC FATALITIES AND SERIOUS INJURIES BY 2035 
AND ENDORSING THE VISION ZERO APPROACH
WHEREAS, the life, health, and safety of all persons living in and traveling 
through the Town of Wickenburg are of the highest priority, and no person should lose 
their life or suffer a serious injury while using the Town’s transportation system; and
WHEREAS, Vision Zero is based on the principle that traffic fatalities and serious 
injuries are unacceptable and preventable, and promotes a comprehensive approach to 
improving safety for all roadway users; and
WHEREAS, Vision Zero supports designing and operating transportation 
systems to safely serve all users, including drivers, passengers, pedestrians, bicyclists, 
public transit users, motorcyclists, individuals with disabilities, and people of all ages 
and abilities; and
WHEREAS, successful Vision Zero initiatives require collaboration among 
government agencies, community stakeholders, and residents to create safer 
transportation systems and support the goal of eliminating traffic fatalities and serious 
injuries.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the 
Town of Wickenburg, Maricopa and Yavapai Counties, Arizona, as follows:
1.
The Town of Wickenburg adopts the goal of zero traffic fatalities and 
serious injuries by 2035, stating that no loss of life or serious injury is acceptable on our 
roadways.
2.
The Town of Wickenburg endorses Vision Zero as a comprehensive and 
holistic approach to achieving the goal of zero traffic fatalities and serious injuries.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Common Council of the Town of
