Resolution No. 2021-136 RFLS #7928 Rev 08/21 RESOLUTION # 2021-136 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SURPRISE, ARIZONA, AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2022 BUDGET BY MOVING BUDGET AUTHORITY IN THE AMOUNT OF $106,000 WITHIN THE HIGHWAY USER CAPITAL FUND FROM PROJECT A61070 TO PROJECTS A61712 AND A61713 FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO STREET SWEEPERS AND AMENDING THE CONTRACT AWARDING AUTHORITY LIST. WHEREAS, the FY2022 budget was adopted including funding for Highway User Capital Fund Project A61712: Asset Replacement Asset 4608 in the amount of $210,000 and Highway User Capital Fund Project A61713: Asset Replacement Asset 4609 in the amount of $210,000; WHEREAS, the increase in the price of commodities have caused the price of street sweepers to increase within a short period of time; WHEREAS, additional funding is needed for the purchase of street sweepers in Highway User Capital Fund Project A61712: Asset Replacement Asset 4608 and Highway User Capital Fund Project A61713: Asset Replacement Asset 4609; WHEREAS, moving budget authority within the Highway User Capital Fund in the amount of $106,000 from Project A61070: Asset Replacement Vehicles and Equipment to Project A61712: Asset Replacement Asset 4608 in the amount of $53,000 and to Project A61713: Asset Replacement Asset 4609 in the amount of $53,000 is necessary; WHEREAS, the FY2022 budget, including the FY2022 Contract Awarding Authority List, was adopted by Council Resolution #2021-87 on June 1, 2021; WHEREAS, the City of Surprise Procurement Code §2-338 (d) requires the authority of the Mayor and Council when the cost to the city is greater than $50,000; WHEREAS, this action will necessitate a budget amendment; and WHEREAS, the City of Surprise Administrative Policies requires the approval of the Mayor and Council for budget amendments of this nature. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Surprise, Arizona, as follows. Section 1. That the statements and schedules attached as Exhibit A and incorporated by reference are adopted, amending the budget of the City of Surprise, Arizona for the fiscal year July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022. Contract Awarding Authority List – Project A61712 and A61713 are for the purchase of two replacement street sweepers. When Council approved the Fiscal Year 2022 Contract Awarding Authority List, these projects were included with $247,800 in each project respectively. This resolution provides authorization to add $17,200 to each project to align with the increased budget authority.
