Parents as Teachers Programs of Child & Family Resources funded by First Things First of Arizona Child & Family Resources Child and Family Resources offers multigenerational prevention programs that break the cycles of poverty and position children and youth to reach their full potential. The Importance of Early Childhood • From birth to age 5, a child’s brain develops more than any other time in life. • Positive early childhood experiences promote healthy brain development and learning. • Early childhood is when kids begin to develop the skills they’ll need for future success in school and in life. Child & Family Resources in the West Valley Provides emotional and developmental support to families of young children birth to 5 years old, including children with developmental delays or special needs. Programs: 1. Parents as Teachers Early Intervention 2. Parents as Teachers Services • Weekly or Bi-weekly Home Visits • Hearing screenings (OAE/Pure Tone) • Vision Screenings (SPOT Machine) • Community Resources to improve family well being • Monthly Socialization groups for participants Parent Screenings – Parent Child Interaction – Depression – Domestic Violence Developmental screenings – Ages & Stages Questionnaire – Ages & Stages Questionnaire Social Emotional COVID-19 CHANGES • Provide services via FaceTime, Zoom, WhatsApp, Skype, Phone • Conduct family events on Zoom • Mail learning materials to families homes Parent Feedback “My stress level has decreased because I have resources and a guide to make sure my child is on the right path.
