Letter of Resignation Dear Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, For the past three years I have done my best to balance the responsibility of the office of Constable and providing for myself and family in this economic climate. In November 2023 my family experienced an event that made providing for my family and being able to keep up with the ever increasing workload at the court an impossible balancing act. I alerted court staff of my situation and went on a temporary leave to take some time to figure out if I could continue to serve as a Constable. It has been a difficult decision, but I know now I cannot continue in my role as a constable, and it is in the best interest of the public, my family, and my family’s safety and well-being that I resign my position as Constable for the Highland Precinct effective February 27, 2024. I would like to schedule an exit interview with one or more of you to discuss my experience serving these last 3 years and how to best support the next individual to take up my position, so they will be able to serve the public to the best of their ability. Sincerely, Constable Luke Palmer
