Consideration of Meeting Minutes: November 27, 2024

Motion made by Board Member Kalman to approve the public and executive session meeting minutes
of November 27, 2024; Second by Board Member Sampanes. Motion passed on a 5-0 vote.

Interview for Ms. Genene Dyer began at 8:58 a.m. and concluded at 9:15 a.m.

The Judicial Advisory Board took a brief break from 9:16 a.m. to 9:25 a.m.

9:25 a.m. — The Judicial Advisory Board recalled agenda item #2 to allow additional public comment on
candidate Ms. Lorie Patrick from Ms. Emilie Halladay.

Interview for Ms. Joan Sinclair began at 9:29 a.m. and concluded at 10:01 a.m.
The Judicial Advisory Board took a brief break from 10:01 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

Interview for Ms. Kerry Rait began at 10:16 a.m. and concluded at 10:44 a.m.

4. Motion to Adjourn to Executive Session, pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.03(A)(1)
Motion made by Board Member Kalman to adjourn to Executive Session; Second by Board member
Sampanes. Motion passed on a 5-0 vote.
Ayes: Board members Aldrich, Ashburn, Blum, Kalman, Sampanes
Nays: None
Non-Voting: Board Member Kane
Abstain: None
Absent: None

Executive Session:
The Board entered Executive Session at 12:11 p.m. Only Board Members were present except for Ms.

Casey Simmons who remained to take meeting minutes and Ms. Alexis Allen who remained to answer
questions related to the City Judge recruitment. Confidential minutes were taken and kept separate from
these public meeting minutes.

Executive Session adjourned and the public meeting was called to order at 2:33 p.m. by Chairperson
Aldrich.

5. Consideration of City Judge Candidate(s) for Recommendation to Mayor and Councilmembers
Motion made by Board Member Blum to nominate candidate Ms. Kerry Rait to be recommended to the
Mayor and Councilmembers for the City Judge position; Second by Board Member Kalman. Motion
passed on a 5-0 vote.

Ayes: Board Members Aldrich, Ashburn, Blum, Kalman, Sampanes
Nays: None

Non-Voting: Board Member Kane

Abstain: None

Absent: None

6. Adjournment
Motion made by Board Member Kalman to adjourn; Second by Board Member Sampanes. Motion
passed on a 5-0 vote.
