REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION

ACTION:  Approve a one-year contract renewal with Axon Enterprise, Inc., for the purchase of a real 
time crime center video management software solution.
FISCAL IMPACT:  The total cost of this contract will not exceed $162,150. Sufficient funds have been 
appropriated in the General Fund, Cost Center 1971 (IT: Administration), for the anticipated 
expenditures in the current fiscal year and next fiscal year, contingent upon City Council approval of the 
City’s annual budget.
RECOMMENDATION:  Approve the contract renewal.
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  (T24-063-01) On March 7, 2024, City Council awarded a one-
year contract with nine, one-year renewal options for the purchase of a real time crime center video 
management software solution that provides live remote viewing, threat mapping, and unified delivery 
of City monitoring and crime analytics. The solution integrates with all existing Tempe public safety, law 
enforcement, transportation and municipal facility video assets that is monitored from a centralized video 
wall located at Tempe Police Headquarters. If approved, this will be the second of nine available renewal 
options.

Renewal Pricing : 
At the time of award, the City negotiated pricing that would not change over the first five years of the 
agreement.  As a result, there is no price increase associated with this renewal.
