REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION

ACTION: Approve a one-year contract renewal with Tony’s Lawn Management, LLC for landscape 
maintenance services for City parking lots.
FISCAL IMPACT: The total cost of the contract will not exceed $130,000.  Sufficient funds have been 
appropriated in the Highway User Revenue Fund, Cost Center 3814 (Right-of-Way Maintenance), for 
anticipated expenditures during the current fiscal year and next fiscal year, contingent upon City Council 
approval of the City’s annual budget.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the contract renewal.
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: (T23-126-01) City Council approved the contract award on March 
16, 2023, for an initial one-year period with four, one-year renewal options to Tony’s Lawn Management, 
LLC for bi-monthly landscape maintenance services for City parking lots.  This is the third of four, one-
year renewal options.
The contracted services are provided on a fixed schedule and include the maintenance and care of 
ground cover and shrubs, maintenance and repairs to irrigation systems, along with general cleanup, 
and pest and weed control. Tony’s Lawn Management, LLC utilizes environmentally friendly weed 
control products typically used under Integrated Pest Control Management plans, rather than 
environmentally harmful chemicals.
All services performed under this contract will be in accordance with Chapter 13A of the Tempe City 
Code relating to Environmental Programs and Standards. The Contractor’s employees operate battery-
powered blowers and trimmers to perform the maintenance services.
