CITY OF TEMPE Meeting Date: 3/5/2026 REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item: 7B12 ACTION: Approve one-year contract renewals to Handyman Maintenance, Inc. dba HMI Commercial Landscaping and Brightview Landscape Services, Inc. for landscape maintenance services for Water and Wastewater sites. FISCAL IMPACT: The total cost of the contracts will not exceed $900,000. Sufficient funds have been appropriated in the Water and Wastewater Fund, Cost Center 3052 (Water Resources - Conservation) for anticipated expenditures during the current fiscal year and future fiscal years, contingent upon City Council approval of the City’s annual budget. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the contract renewals. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: (T24-002-01, 02) City Council approved the contract award on March 7, 2024, for an initial two-year period with three, one-year renewal options to Handyman Maintenance, Inc. dba HMI Commercial Landscaping and Brightview Landscape Services, Inc. to supplement staff capability to perform landscape maintenance services for Water and Wastewater sites including water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, wells, tanks, lift stations, bio filters and the Xeriscape Demonstration Garden. This is the first of three, one-year renewal options.
