Agenda Item: 7B17
ACTION: Approve a one-year contract renewal with Arizona Pump Resources for the purchase and
repair of chemical and water pumps.
FISCAL IMPACT: The total cost of this contract is $300,000. Sufficient funds have been appropriated
in the Water and Wastewater Fund, Cost Centers 3013 (Johnny G. Martinez W.T.P.), 3014 (South
Tempe W.T.P.), 3016 (Water Field Facilities), 3034 (Kyrene W.R.F.), 3035 (Wastewater Field Facilities)
and 3007 (Tempe Town Lake Operations and Maintenance) for anticipated expenditures in the current
fiscal year and future fiscal year, contingent upon City Council approval of the City’s annual budget.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the contract renewal.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: (WUD25-007) City Council approved this supplemental contract
award on August 26, 2024, for an initial 18-month period with three, one-year renewal options to
Arizona Pump Resources for the purchase and repair of chemical dosing pumps and water and
wastewater pumps. The renewal of this contract is necessary as this vendor supplements existing
contracts (WUD24-038-01, 02 and 03) that provide similar products and services. Water Utilities
maintains in-house staff to perform repairs, but maintaining each of these contracts is necessary to
ensure adequate availability for critical components utilized at the City’s water treatment facilities. This
is the first of three, one-year renewal options.
The performance of the contractor was rated by City staff as follows:
