REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
Agenda Item: 7B21
ACTION: Approve an addendum to the contract with TYPSA, Inc., for Project No. 6007131B – Multi-
Use Path - 8th Street; Rural Road to McClintock Drive.
FISCAL IMPACT: The addendum amount is $99,192.80 for a total contract amount of $176,339.02. 
Funds to cover this addendum are appropriated in Fiscal Year 2025/26 in Capital Improvement Project 
No. 6007131B (Multi-Use Path - 8th Street; Rural Road to McClintock Drive).
RECOMMENDATION:  Approve addendum
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project will construct high visibility/raised crosswalks, 
directional ramps, bike lanes, traffic calming, parking and enhanced landscaping along 8th Street from 
Rural Road to McClintock Drive. The project will also include a 10' off-street multi-use path with lighting, 
landscaping and rest nodes in the abandoned historic Creamery Branch Rail alignment located just 
north of the existing 8th Street sidewalk from Dorsey Lane to Rural Road. The multi-use path will 
integrate interpretive elements highlighting ancestral O’odham cultural heritage and the history of 
railroading in Tempe which were developed in consultation with the Four Southern Tribes. This 
addendum is to provide additional archaeological monitoring services for the project.
