ACTION:  Approve an addendum to the contract with SPS+ Architects, LLP for Project No. 6711781 – 
Apache Inn Rehabilitation
FISCAL IMPACT:  The addendum amount is $21,215 for a total contract of $110,867. Funds to cover 
this contract, related costs and any future addenda are appropriated in Fiscal Year 2025/26 in Capital 
Improvement Project No. 6711789 (Sheltering the Unhoused - Non-congregate Homeless Shelter 
Rehabilitation).
RECOMMENDATION:  Approve addendum
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  The City acquired and took possession of the Apache Inn property 
in September 2024 for the express purpose of converting the property to a transitional bridge shelter. 
This property will be operated as a bridge shelter for a minimum of ten years, after which time it can be 
converted to affordable housing. The project will include renovation of the lobby, office spaces, 
community spaces and tenant laundry facility, creation of locking adjoining bedrooms to create 
convertible 2-bed, 2-bath units for larger families, and Americans with Disabilities Act improvements 
including bathrooms, ramps from parking lot areas and path from public sidewalk.
This contract addendum will add funds for additional design services. 
Scope of Work: 

Additional design and construction document services as needed.

Oversight and coordination of additional electrical engineering.
