RESOLUTION NO.  R2026.17
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
TEMPE, ARIZONA, APPROVING A FIRST AMENDMENT TO 
THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF TEMPE AND 
SALT RIVER PROJECT AGRICULTURAL IMPROVEMENT 
AND POWER DISTRICT TO SUPPORT THE CITY’S NON-
RESIDENTIAL 
LANDSCAPE 
CONVERSION 
REBATE 
PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, on about September 11, 2024, the City entered into an agreement with Salt River 
Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District (SRP) to support both parties’ water conservation 
goals and through which SRP contributes funds to the City’s Non-Residential Landscape Conversation 
Rebate Program which provides financial incentives for non-residential Tempe customers to replace high-
intensity turf landscaping with low-water-use landscaping; and
WHEREAS, parties now desire to amend the agreement to reflect additional SRP funding and to 
make other necessary revisions; and
WHEREAS, this Resolution and its actions are for the benefit of persons living, working, or visiting 
in the City of Tempe;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPE, 
ARIZONA, as follows:
Section 1.  That the City Council authorizes, approves, and directs the Mayor to execute, on behalf 
of the City, the First Amendment to the Agreement with SRP and accepts additional funding to apply toward 
non-residential turf conversion rebates.
Section 2.  That the City Council hereby authorizes and directs the Public Works Director or 
designee to execute any other documents and take such other actions as are necessary to carry out the intent 
of this Resolution.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPE, ARIZONA, 
this 5th day of March, 2026.
