RESOLUTION NO. R2026.19
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 
OF TEMPE, ARIZONA, TO ACCEPT AND DISBURSE 
GRANT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,500 FROM STATE 
FARM FOR THE CITY OF TEMPE COMMUNITY 
SERVICES DEPARTMENT’S 2026 GEEKS NIGHT OUT 
EVENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Tempe (the “City”) submitted an application to State Farm in the 
fall of 2025 for funding for the Community Service’s Department’s 2026 Geeks Night Out event, 
Tempe’s annual STEAM Festival; and
WHEREAS, in January 2026, State Farm notified the City of their intent to award the City 
a total of $7,500 in grant funds for Geeks Night Out; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to accept State Farm’s grant funds to help offset the 
production costs of Geeks Night Out. 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
TEMPE, ARIZONA, hereby:
1.
Accepts the grant award from State Farm in the amount of $7,500 to be distributed 
to the Community Services Department’s 2026 Geeks Night Out event.
2.
Authorizes the Community Services Director or their designee to take such further 
actions and execute such additional documents, including amendments, as are 
necessary to implement the intent of the Grant Award and this Resolution.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPE, 
ARIZONA, this 5th day of March, 2026.
