RESOLUTION NO. R2026.21 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPE, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF THE CITY OF TEMPE'S APPLICATIONS FOR GAMING GRANT FUNDS FROM THE FORT MCDOWELL YAVAPAI NATION. WHEREAS, Arizona Revised Statutes (“A.R.S.”) § 5-601.02 authorizes the State of Arizona and Arizona tribes to enter into gaming contracts and permits the establishment of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation State Shared Revenue program that now provides funds to eligible applicants such as cities, towns and counties for government services that benefit the general public, including public safety, mitigation of gaming impacts, and the promotion of commerce and economic development; and WHEREAS, the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation is offering grants to cities, towns, or counties under their state shared revenue agreement; and WHEREAS, the City of Tempe desires to seek gaming grant funds from the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation with the funds used to support the programs listed below as further set forth in the applications: 1. Citywide Cat Colony Management. 2. Financial Support for Youth Support Specialist Services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPE, ARIZONA, as follows: 1. That the City of Tempe approves the submission of the City of Tempe's applications for funds from the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation for the purpose of supporting programs as further set forth in its applications. 2. That the City Manager or their designee is authorized to forward the above approved applications to Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.
