RESOLUTION NO. R2024.25
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
TEMPE, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF TEMPE TO 
SERVE AS A PASS THROUGH ENTITY FOR THE SUBMISSION 
OF MARICOPA COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGES DISTRICT 
FOUNDATION’S APPLICATION FOR GAMING GRANT FUNDS 
FROM THE PASCUA YAQUI TRIBE.
WHEREAS, Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S.”) § 5-601.02 authorizes the State of Arizona and 
Arizona tribes to enter into gaming contracts and permits the establishment of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe 
State Shared Revenue program that provides funds to eligible applicants such as cities, towns and counties 
for government services that benefit the general public, including public safety, mitigation of gaming 
impacts, and the promotion of commerce and economic development; and
WHEREAS, the Pascua Yaqui Tribe is offering grants to cities, towns, or counties under their 
state shared revenue agreement; and
WHEREAS, in the spirit of regional cooperation, the City of Tempe is willing to serve as a pass 
through entity for a portion of Pascua Yaqui Tribe's statutory contribution to external organizations to 
which the tribe has awarded a grant, and
WHEREAS, the Maricopa County Community Colleges District Foundation (MCCCDF) has 
submitted the following funding request application to the Pasqua Yaqui Tribe to support the program 
listed below as further set forth in the application:
Maricopa County Community Colleges District Foundation - EmpowerED for 
Student Success Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
TEMPE, ARIZONA, as follows:
1.
That the City of Tempe agrees to serve as a pass through entity for  the submission of 
Maricopa County Community Colleges District Foundation's application for gaming 
grant funds from the Pascua Yaqui Tribe for the purpose of supporting programs as 
further set forth in its application.
2.
That the City Manager or designee is authorized to forward the above approved 
application to the Pascua Yaqui Tribe.
