CITY OF TEMPE Meeting Date: 3/26/2026 REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item: 7B9 ACTION: Approve the utilization of ten-month Sourcewell cooperative contracts with No Fault Surfaces, EZ Dock, Miracle Recreation Equipment, Little Tikes Commercial, Wabash Valley, USA Shade Structures, Soft Play and Playworld Systems for the supply and installation of playground, water play and aquatic equipment, site amenities, and outdoor fitness equipment with related accessories and services. FISCAL IMPACT: The total cost of the contracts will not exceed $280,000. Sufficient funds have been appropriated in Park Improvement/Recreation Capital Improvement Program (CIP), Projects 6305499 (Park Playground/Replacement) and 6308169 (Park Infrastructure), for anticipated expenditures during the current fiscal year and next fiscal year, contingent upon City Council approval of the City's annual budget. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the utilization of the contracts. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: (101625) Sourcewell solicited bids and awarded contracts for playground, water play and aquatic equipment, site amenities, and outdoor fitness equipment with related accessories and services. This contract will be effective through December 17, 2026. Sourcewell develops public procurement solicitations and agreements using a lead state model, which meets the City’s highest standard for public cooperative contracting, achieving effective and efficient acquisition of quality products and services. These contracts will be used to purchase and install playground equipment at City parks and playgrounds as part of comprehensive playground renovations and when individual equipment replacements are necessary. A full range of accessible playground equipment that accommodate children with mobility and other challenges are available through these approved contractors. General Pricing for Contracts Sourcewell utilized a competitive bid process to establish discounts off-list pricing. Discounts range from 3% to 23% off the list price for equipment offered by the contractors.
