CITY OF TEMPE Meeting Date: 3/26/2026 REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item: 7C3 ACTION: Adopt a resolution authorizing the Mayor or his designee to sign Amendment 7 to an Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Tempe and Maricopa County whereby the City authorizes and supports the City of Goodyear’s participation in the Maricopa County HOME Consortium. (Resolution No. R2026.32) FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact. RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Resolution No. R2026.32. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Maricopa County HOME Consortium project was first authorized on or about May 4, 2017 to provide single family homebuyer assistance (down payment and closing costs assistance) to homebuyers. The County initially provided the City with $321,086 in 2016 HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The original Agreement term was July 1, 2016, through May 4, 2019. The parties have executed six prior amendments to the Agreement to, among other things, increase the amount of funds to be provided and extend the term of the Agreement. The purpose of this amendment is to provide support for the City of Goodyear to participate in the Maricopa County HOME Consortium.
