RESOLUTION NO. R2026. 36
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
TEMPE, ARIZONA AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AN 
INTERGOVERNMENTAL 
AGREEMENT 
WITH 
THE 
REGIONAL PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY FOR 
THE PURCHASE AND SUPPLY OF TRANSIT SERVICES FOR 
FISCAL YEAR (FY) 2025-26.
WHEREAS, Tempe is an Arizona political subdivision and municipal corporation and Regional 
Public Transportation Authority (RPTA) is a public agency under A.R.S. § 48-5101; and,
WHEREAS, RPTA is authorized to contract for the provision of public transportation services 
under A.R.S. §§ 48-5122 and 48-5123; and, 
WHEREAS, Tempe and RPTA have authority under A.R.S. § 11-952 to enter into 
intergovernmental agreements; and, 
WHEREAS, Tempe is authorized to contract for the provision of public transportation services 
under City of Tempe Charter and Code; and, 
WHEREAS, Tempe and RPTA desire to provide a regional public transportation system; and, 
WHEREAS, Tempe’s City Council and RPTA’s Board of Directors have authorized the parties 
to enter into this Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
TEMPE, ARIZONA, as follows:
Section 1.
That the Mayor is authorized to sign an Intergovernmental Agreement between 
the City of Tempe and the Regional Public Transportation Authority for the purchase and supply of 
transit services for fiscal year 2025-26.
Section 2.
That the City Manager or designee is authorized to take such further actions and 
execute such further documents as are necessary to carry out the purposes of this resolution.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPE, ARIZONA, 
this 26th day of March, 2026.
