REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION

ACTION: Approve addenda with Builders Guild, Inc.; Caliente Construction, Inc.; Chasse Building 
Team, Inc.; Core Construction, Inc.; and SDB Contracting Services, Inc., for their respective contracts 
entitled General Construction Services, each of which are master Job Order Contracts (JOC).
FISCAL IMPACT: These addenda set the maximum amount for each master contract not to exceed 
$20,000,000 for each company, the prior maximum amount for each company was $10,000,000. The 
maximum Job Order amount of each contract is increased from $2,000,000 to $3,000,000. These 
contracts are funded by various Capital Improvement Program projects throughout the contract term.
RECOMMENDATION:  Approve addenda
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City of Tempe invited firms to submit a Statement of 
Qualifications (SOQ) for providing general construction services for City of Tempe projects. The types 
of projects these contracts are used for includes tenant improvements, such as kitchen installations, 
roof and HVAC repairs, electrical improvements, site improvements and other projects that support 
projects identified in the Capital Improvement Program. These addenda are to increase the maximum 
contract amount and the maximum individual Job Order amount for each company due to increased 
cost and volume of work these contracts are used for. In general, these job order contracts will continue 
to be utilized for City general construction projects.
