REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION

ACTION:  Approve a one-year sole source contract renewal with Granicus, Inc. for web content 
management services for the City’s website.
FISCAL IMPACT:  The total cost of this one-year contract shall not exceed $120,000. Sufficient funds 
have been appropriated in General Fund, Cost Center 1971 (IT: Administration) and 1232 (Economic 
Development Office) for anticipated expenditures during the current fiscal year and next fiscal year, 
contingent upon City Council approval of the City’s annual budget.
RECOMMENDATION:  Approve the contract renewal.
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  (IT10-121-01) City Council awarded this contract to Granicus on 
January 27, 2011, for web content management services as a result of a competitive RFP process. 
Once the available renewal options were exhausted, the City designated this legacy contract as a sole 
source due to the significant investment and copyright status of the website software.
Historically, the annual subscription for maintenance and support costs has been approved under the 
Procurement Division’s delegated authority level of less than $100,000. Recently, additional subsites 
and licenses have been purchased, resulting in the contract value exceeding Procurement’s authority 
level.
