ACTION: Approve a one-year contract renewal with Industrial Power Solutions for water utilities 
instrument and control technician support.
FISCAL IMPACT: The total cost of the contract will not exceed $300,000. Sufficient funds have been 
appropriated in the Water and Wastewater Fund, Cost Centers 3013 (Johnny G. Martinez W.T.P.), 3014 
(South Tempe W.T.P.), 3016 (Water Field Facilities), 3034 (Kyrene W.R.F.) 3035 (Wastewater Field 
Facilities), and 3007 (Tempe Town Lake) for anticipated expenditures in the current fiscal year and next 
fiscal year, contingent upon City Council approval of the City’s annual budget.
RECOMMENDATION:  Approve the contract renewal.
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  (WUD22-120-01) On April 29, 2022, Procurement staff awarded 
a one-year contract with four, one-year renewals for instrument and controls technician support. 
Industrial Power Solutions provides contracted services for instrumentation and controls electricians that 
supplements staff’s capacity to maintain and repair specialized equipment for the Water Utilities Division. 
If approved this will be the fourth and final renewal option.
