CITY OF TEMPE Meeting Date: 4/28/2026 DEVELOPMENT REVIEW COMMISSION Agenda Item: 6A ACTION: Request Zoning and Development Code Text Amendments for Part 4 updates to Signs, Part 3 clarifications, corrections and reorganization of sections pertaining to Accessory Structures, Part 4 updates, clarifications and modifications to Use Permit Standards, General Development Standards, Parking, Landscape and Lighting, Part 6 updates to Applications and Part 7 additions to Definitions. The applicant is City of Tempe. (PL260085) FISCAL IMPACT: While this ordinance change does not directly impact revenue, the planned development will result in collection of the standard development fees, calculated according to the approved fee structure at the time of permit issuance. RECOMMENDATION: Approve BACKGROUND INFORMATION: As part of the ongoing effort to address corrections, clarifications, updates and modifications to the 2005 Zoning and Development Code, staff has prepared two ordinances to address the most frequent questions or challenges within the code for applicants and staff. On February 10th, staff presented these two proposed ordinances for discussion and early input from the Development Review Commission. On March 4th, staff presented proposed ordinances for discussion and input from the Neighborhood Advisory Commission. The Ordinances were posted online for public comment on April 7th.
