REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION

ACTION:  Adopt a resolution authorizing the Mayor to sign an Intergovernmental Agreement between 
the City of Tempe and the Town of Guadalupe to jointly finance the Tempe Youth Transit Pass Program. 
(Resolution No. R2026.46)
FISCAL IMPACT:  The Town of Guadalupe shall reimburse the cost of actual monthly transit usage.
RECOMMENDATION:  Adopt Resolution No. R2026.46.
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  As approved by the City Council in 2005, the City of Tempe 
provides free transit passes to Tempe residents ages 6 to 18. Passes are valid on all Valley Metro bus 
routes, Streetcar and the METRO light rail for one year. This agreement allows Guadalupe residents 
ages 6 to 18 to participate in the Tempe Youth Transit Pass Program. The Town of Guadalupe will 
reimburse the City of Tempe for the usage costs accumulated by its residents. The term of this 
Agreement shall remain in effect for five years through June 30, 2031, unless sooner terminated.
