ACTION: Request a Planned Area Development Overlay to establish development standards for the 
existing MU-4 zoning district for TEMPE OASIS, consisting of the reuse of an existing hotel to multi-
family use with 142 units, including commercial, located at 1635 North Scottsdale Road. The applicant 
is Camber and True, LLC. (PL260032)

RECOMMENDATION: Approve, subject to conditions
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  TEMPE OASIS (PL260032) is requesting establishment of 
Planned Area Development standards for approximately 3 acres at the southwest corner of Lilac Drive 
and Scottsdale Road. The site currently contains a hotel which will be renovated to create apartments. 
A previous zoning amendment changed the zoning from R-4 to MU-4, but development standards were 
not established at that time. A Development Plan Review is currently in review for approval of the site 
and landscape plans. The request includes the following:
