REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
Agenda Item: 7B6
ACTION:  Approve a one-year contract renewal with Urban Solar Corporation for photovoltaic light 
emitting diode (LED) lighting systems and repair parts for bus stops.
FISCAL IMPACT:  The total cost of the contract shall not exceed $450,000. Sufficient funds have 
been appropriated in Transit – Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Project No. 6008519 (Bus Pull Outs), 
for anticipated expenditures during the current fiscal year and future fiscal years, contingent upon City 
Council approval of the City’s annual budget.
RECOMMENDATION:  Approve the contract renewal.
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  (T22-129-01) The contract was awarded to Urban Solar 
Corporation on June 10, 2022, for photovoltaic LED lighting systems and repair parts for bus stops for 
a one-year contract term, with four one-year renewal options. This is the fourth, and final, of four 
available renewal options.
This contract is for the supply and installation of photovoltaic LED lighting systems on City bus stop 
passenger shelters and pole-mounted systems at bus stops without shelters, and repair parts. The 
lighting systems provide sufficient lighting from dusk to dawn and improve the safety of the bus stops 
for riders.
