RESOLUTION NO. R2026.49 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPE, ARIZONA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN THE REVISED CITY OF TEMPE EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLAN AS REQUIRED BY POLICY AND AS RECOMMENDED BY THE MARICOPA COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY. WHEREAS, the City of Tempe government must be prepared to respond to natural or man-made disasters or large-scale incidents that threaten lives and property in Tempe; and WHEREAS, the Emergency Operations Plan is designed to provide direction and guidance to City staff in the event of a disaster or large-scale incident in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes, Chapter 2, Article 1; and WHEREAS, this plan will improve the City’s preparedness and response efforts; and WHEREAS, the Emergency Operations Plan is for the benefit of the citizens of Tempe. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPE, ARIZONA, HEREBY: 1. Gives approval for the Mayor to sign the revised City of Tempe Emergency Operations Plan. 2. Gives authority to the Tempe Fire Medical Rescue Chief or their designee to act as an agent of the City of Tempe to submit any necessary supplemental documents or minor changes in connection with the Emergency Operations Plan.
