Agenda Item 1 – Public Appearances 
Kendon Jung encouraged the commission to vote in favor of .1% transit tax and noted that while there may not have 
been as much discussion, it would be a missed opportunity not to support.  
 
Hannah Moulton Belec addressed the commission speaking as the Tempe Bicycle Action Group (TBAG) Treasurer. She noted 
that TBAG would love more funding but there is a need to plug critical funding gap now. The TBAG Board of Directors is strongly 
in favor of increasing the transit tax.  
 
Katie Boligitz addressed the commission speaking on her own behalf and asked the commission to please support the transit tax 
increase. 
 
Agenda Item 2 – Transit Tax 
Dawn Hocking introduced the item requesting that the commission vote on the item to advance a 0.1% tax transit tax increase to 
the voters in November 2026.   
 
Commissioner Anthony Strait made a motion to support the propose 0.1% transit tax increase with the modified ballot language to 
define multi-modalism as bike and pedestrian infrastructure. 
 
Commissioner Sokolowski stated he would be voting no, noting his concern that there wasn’t a survey and that he needs more 
time to evaluate. 
 
Commissioner Milne stated she was not prepared for a vote on the proposal and needed more information.

Deputy City Manager Lisette Camacho addressed the Commission following the vote noting that the recent (April 28th) 
Transportation Commission Meeting discussion and two failed motions was shared with the City Council and caused some 
concern and she encouraged the Commission to apologize and make amends to Council and staff and that if they were in favor of 
the initiative to attend the Council meeting and speak to the Council. 
 
The next meeting is scheduled for May 12, 2026. The meeting was adjourned at 4:44 p.m.
