ACTION:  Approve a one-year contract renewal with Spiker Sports, LLC for temporary sports officials 
for the Community Services Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:  The total cost of the contract will not exceed $220,000. Sufficient funds have been 
appropriated in the General Fund, Cost Centers 2528 (Sports Officials), 2531 (Kiwanis Recreation 
Center), 2487 (Escalante Community Center), and 44410 (Escalante Center) for anticipated 
expenditures in the current fiscal year and next fiscal year, contingent upon City Council approval of the 
City’s annual budget.
RECOMMENDATION:  Approve the contract renewal.
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  (RFP 24-148) On August 26, 2024, City Council awarded a two-
year contract with renewal options for temporary sports official. Spikers Sports, LLC provides sports 
officials for a variety of sporting leagues sponsored by the Community Services Department on an as 
needed basis.  This company provides all scheduling, coordination, and payment processing for the 
selected officials.  If approved, this will be the first of three, one-year renewal options.
