REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION

ACTION:  Approve the utilization of a one-year Sourcewell cooperative contract with Box Gang 
Manufacturing LLC and Wastequip Manufacturing for the purchase of bulk solid waste containers and 
recycling equipment for the Solid Waste Division.
FISCAL IMPACT:  The total cost of this contract shall not exceed $200,000. Sufficient funds have 
been appropriated in the Solid Waste Fund, Cost Center 3715 (Roll-Off Tilt Frame) and 3714 
(Commercial), for anticipated expenditures during the current fiscal year and next fiscal year, contingent 
upon City Council approval of the City's annual budget.
RECOMMENDATION:  Approve the utilization of the contracts.
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  (010825-BXG and 010825-WQI) Sourcewell solicited and 
awarded a contract to Box Gang Manufacturing LLC and Wastequip Manufacturing for the purchase of 
bulk solid waste containers and recycling equipment. Sourcewell is a cooperative purchasing 
organization with national scope that develops long-term agreements for a variety of commonly needed 
equipment and services with the specific purpose of reducing procurement costs by leveraging group 
volume.
The City plans to purchase the following items through this cooperative:

Frontload Slant containers

Roll Off Open containers
The containers are available in 10, 15, 25, or 40 cubic yard sizes.
