A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 
OF TEMPE, ARIZONA, TO ACCEPT AND DISBURSE 
GRANT FUNDS IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $39,173 
FROM THE LIBRARY SERVICES AND TECHNOLOGY 
ACT THROUGH THE ARIZONA STATE LIBRARY FOR 
THE WRITERS IN RESIDENCE IN LIBRARIES AND 
YOUTH LIBRARY INTERACTIVE SPACES PROGRAMS.
WHEREAS, the City of Tempe (“City”) applied for and was awarded two one-time 
grants in the total amount of $39,173 from the Library Services and Technology Act through the 
Arizona State Library; and
WHEREAS, the City now desires to accept the grant funds, which will be used by the 
Tempe Public Library for its Writers in Residence in Libraries ($5,000) and Youth Library 
Interactive Spaces ($34,173) programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE 
CITY OF TEMPE, ARIZONA, as follows:
1.
Accepting the grant awards in the total amount of $39,173.00 from the Library 
Services and Technology Act Grant through the Arizona State Library to be used for the Tempe 
Public Library’s Writers in Residence in Libraries ($5,000.00) and Youth Library Interactive 
Spaces ($34,173.00) programs.
2.
That the Community Services Director (or designee) is authorized to act as the 
agent of the City of Tempe to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents, 
including but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments, billing statements, and any 
other necessary or desirable instruments in connection with such funding.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPE, 
ARIZONA, this 4th day of June, 2026.
