REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION

ACTION:  Approve a schedule of City Council meetings for August 2026 through July 2027, to include 
Executive Sessions, Regular Council Meetings, Work Study Sessions, Housing Authority Meetings, Rio 
Salado Community Facilities District Board Meetings, Special Budget Meetings, and other types of 
Special Meetings, including Joint Meetings and Council Retreats.
FISCAL IMPACT:  No fiscal impact.
RECOMMENDATION:  Approve the August 2026 – July 2027 City Council Meeting Schedule.
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  During the City Council’s Special Calendaring Meeting on May 
29, 2026, the Mayor and Council decided on dates from August 2026 through July 2027, to hold 
meetings open to the public as well as executive sessions, which are closed to the public pursuant to 
Arizona Revised Statutes §38-431.03. The Council meeting dates and times are listed in the attached 
Tempe City Council Meeting Schedule and Notice, which will be posted on the City’s website at 
www.tempe.gov/clerk.
The Agenda for these City Council meetings will be available no later than 24 hours before each 
scheduled meeting in the Tempe City Clerk’s Office, 31 East Fifth Street, Tempe, Arizona, and on the 
City’s website at www.tempe.gov/clerk. The Notice for each meeting will be posted on electronic display 
panels near the main entry of the Tempe Council Chambers at the Harry E. Mitchell Government 
Complex, 31 East Fifth Street, Tempe, Arizona.
