CALL TO ORDER Mayor Woods called the City Council Calendaring Meeting to order at 1:31 p.m. City Council Calendaring Meeting Minutes Friday, May 29, 2026 2 2. CITY COUNCIL MEETING SCHEDULE 2A. August 2026 – July 2027 City Council Meeting Schedule Mayor Woods facilitated a review of the proposed City Council meeting schedule for August 2026 through July 2027. Council discussed member availability, holidays, conferences, annual events, joint meetings, and other scheduling considerations. During the review, Council selected August 31, 2026, as the date for the August Executive Session, Tempe Housing Authority Meeting, and Regular Council Meeting. Council also agreed to schedule the annual Council Retreat for October 23, 2026, and discussed scheduling considerations related to the annual Tempe Neighborhood Day at the State Capitol, Ramadan observances, annual joint meetings, and potential future coordination opportunities with Arizona State University leadership.
