CITY OF TEMPE
Meeting Date: 6/25/2026
REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
Agenda Item: 7B11
ACTION: Approve a three-year contract renewal with MRI Software LLC., for a public housing
management software program.
FISCAL IMPACT: The total cost of this contract shall not exceed $358,761.97. Sufficient funds have
been appropriated in the General Fund, Cost Center 2772 (CHHS Section 8 Admin) for anticipated
expenditures during the current fiscal year and next fiscal year, contingent upon City Council approval
of the City’s annual budget.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the contract renewal.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: (IT20-136-01) Since 2002, the City has been using this public
housing management software program (PHA), and to date, the value of this contract has been below
the formal threshold ($100,000). The most recent renewal, however, will see the cost of this contract
exceed the formal threshold and will now require Council approval. As part of this renewal, the City will
be migrating from an on-premise solution to cloud-hosted solution.
The City has negotiated a three-year contract renewal with a 4% fixed increase year over year.
