1 Resolution No. R2026.73 RESOLUTION NO. R2026.73 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPE, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ACCEPT AND DISBURSE GRANT FUNDS FROM THE NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES INSTITUTE TO ADMINISTER THE BUILDING ECONOMIC RESILIENCE IN COMMUNITIES PROGRAM AT THE TEMPE ENVISION CENTER. WHEREAS, the City of Tempe (City) submitted an application to the National League of Cities Institute (NLCI) in the spring of 2026 for funding to support the administration of the Building Economic Resilience in Communities (BERC) program at the Tempe EnVision Center; and WHEREAS, in June 2026, NLCI notified the City of its selection to receive $25,000 in grant funds and strategic guidance as part of the BERC cohort program; and WHEREAS, the City desires to accept NLCI grant funds to administer the BERC program at the Tempe EnVision Center in accordance with the terms set forth in the grant award letter and Memorandum of Understanding. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPE, ARIZONA, HEREBY: 1. Accepts the grant award from the National League of Cities Institute in the amount of $25,000 to administer the BERC program through March 31, 2027, at the Tempe EnVision Center; and 2. Authorizes related expenditures to specified Community Health and Human Services Department programs to pay for the BERC program deliverables as outlined in the grant award letter and MOU dated June 11, 2026; and 3. Gives authority to the City Manager, Community Health and Human Services Department Director, or designee to act as the agent of the City of Tempe to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents, including but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments, billing statements, and any other necessary or desirable instruments in connection with such funding. 2 Resolution No. R2026.73 PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPE, ARIZONA, this 25th day of June, 2026.
