REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION

ACTION:  Adopt a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an intergovernmental agreement 
between the Kyrene Elementary School District No. 28 and the City of Tempe to provide services related 
to the School Resource Officer Program. (Resolution No. R2026.79)
FISCAL IMPACT:  N/A
RECOMMENDATION:  Adopt Resolution No. R2026.79.
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  This Intergovernmental Agreement Covers a three (3) year 
period, commencing on July 1, 2026, and terminating on June 30, 2029. These School Resource 
Officers provide law-related education that promotes a safe environment and good citizenship. Officers 
also respond to any law enforcement related activities that occur on campus supporting the District in 
maintaining safe campuses for students, employees and guests.
