REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION

ACTION:  Adopt a resolution authorizing the Chief of Police or designee(s), to execute an agreement 
between Arizona Mills Mall LLC and the Tempe Police Department for dedicated and specific police 
services at the Arizona Mills Mall. (Resolution No. R2026.78)
FISCAL IMPACT:  Total amount of the reimbursement will be $182,060.28 during the one-year 
contract renewal period. Sufficient funds have been appropriated in the General Fund - cost center 2272 
(Patrol) for the anticipated expenditures in the fiscal year 2026-27.
RECOMMENDATION:  Adopt Resolution No. R2026.78.
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  The Tempe Police Department has assigned one full-time Police 
Officer to provide dedicated police services at the Arizona Mills Mall.  The cost of these dedicated police 
services shall be paid by Arizona Mills Mall, LLC.  The agreement outlines the obligation and terms of 
both parties.
