RESOLUTION NO. R2026.86
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 
OF TEMPE, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO 
ACCEPT AND DISBURSE A SUB-GRANT AWARD FROM 
TEMPE COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY TO SUPPORT 
CITY OF TEMPE COMMUNITY HEALTH AND HUMAN 
SERVICES DEPARTMENT HEAT RELIEF EFFORTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Tempe (City) received notification from Tempe Community 
Action Agency (TCAA) on April 30, 2026, of its intent to award sub-grant funds in the amount of 
$61,428.77 to the City of Tempe to support the Community Health and Human Services 
Department’s heat relief efforts; and
WHEREAS, subgrant funds will support City heat relief efforts, including services and 
resources aimed at protecting vulnerable populations during the heat relief season; and
WHEREAS, the use of the funds must comply with all applicable rules and regulations of 
the Arizona Department of Economic Security.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 
OF TEMPE, ARIZONA, HEREBY:
1.
Accepts the sub-grant award from TCAA in the amount of $61,428.77 to support 
City heat relief efforts; and
2.
Authorizes expenditures to Community Health and Human Services Department 
programs, services, and resources that protect vulnerable populations during heat relief season; 
and
3.
Gives authority to the City Manager, Community Health and Human Services 
Department Director, or their designees, to act as the agent of the City of Tempe to conduct all 
negotiations, execute and submit all documents, including but not limited to applications, 
agreements, amendments, billing statements, and any other necessary or desirable instruments in 
connection with such funding.
