ACTION: Award professional services contracts to RSP Architects, Ltd.; Multistudio, Inc.; GH2 
Architects, LLC; and SPS+ Architects, LLP, for providing on-call Facility Improvements and Related 
Architecture Services.
FISCAL IMPACT: The maximum amount for each individual professional services contract is not to 
exceed $300,000, for a combined total amount not to exceed $1,000,000 per contract per company. 
These contracts are funded by various Capital Improvement Projects throughout the contract term.
RECOMMENDATION: Award contracts
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City of Tempe invited firms to submit a Statement of 
Qualifications for professional services for Facility Improvements and Related Architecture Services. 
These services may be utilized in connection with capital improvement projects or public infrastructure 
projects.  
Scope of Work: Firms to provide facilities and small-scale architecture planning, design and post-
design services in connection with City of Tempe capital improvement projects or public infrastructure 
projects. Contract services may include, but are not limited to, any of the following:

Interior space planning

Tenant improvement assessments and design

Commercial kitchen design

Roof assessment and design

Building envelope assessment and design, such as windows and doors and water tightness

ADA accessibility assessment and design

Emergency egress plans and signage

HVAC assessment and design

Plumbing assessment and design

Electrical assessment and design

Historical building assessment, restoration, and renovation

Asbestos or lead testing

Preparation of technical specifications

Monitoring and inspections of construction work required to certify as-builts, including special 
inspections required by the Building Code
