RESOLUTION NO. 12477 
 
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MESA, 
ARIZONA, 
APPROVING 
AND 
AUTHORIZING 
THE 
CITY 
MANAGER 
TO 
ENTER 
AN 
INTERGOVERNMENTAL 
AGREEMENT FOR SOLID WASTE/RECYCLING COLLECTION 
BETWEEN THE CITY OF MESA, AND GILBERT UNIFIED 
SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 41. 
 
WHEREAS, The City of Mesa and Gilbert Unified School District No. 41 
desire to enter into an intergovernmental agreement pursuant to Title 11, Chapter 
7, Article 3 (A.R.S. §§ 11-951, et seq.), Arizona Revised Statutes regarding solid 
waste and recyclable materials services; and 
 
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 
OF MESA, MARICOPA COUNTY, STATE OF ARIZONA, AS FOLLOWS: 
 
Section 1: That the Council of the City of Mesa hereby approves the 
Intergovernmental Agreement For Solid Waste/Recycling Collection (the “IGA”) 
between the City of Mesa and Gilbert Unified School District No. 41. 
 
Section 2: That the City manager or his designated representative is 
authorized and directed to enter the IGA on behalf of the City of Mesa upon its 
approval as to form by the City Attorney or her designated representative, and the 
City Clerk is authorized and directed to attest to the signature of the City Manager 
or his designee thereon. 
 
Section 3: That the various City officers and employees be and hereby are 
authorized and directed to perform all acts necessary to give effect to this 
Resolution. 
 
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Mesa, Maricopa 
County, Arizona this 9th day of March, 2026.
