RESOLUTION NO. 5465 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CHANDLER AND THE GILA RIVER INDIAN COMMUNITY FOR PROVISION OF MUTUAL AID SERVICES AND AUTHORIZING THE FIRE CHIEF OR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER. WHEREAS, the City of Chandler and the Gila River Indian Community wish to continue the partnership between the two entities that began in 1996, and enter into an updated Mutual Aid Intergovernmental Agreement for the provision of mutual aid; and WHEREAS, it is mutually beneficial for both Parties to enter into an agreement to provide fire and medical services for the citizens of Chandler and the Gila River Indian community; and WHEREAS, the Parties have the authority to enter into such an Agreement pursuant to the emergency management provisions of A.R.S. § 26-308(A) as well as the provisions of A.R.S. § 11-952(A) that enable public agencies to enter into intergovernmental agreements; and WHEREAS, the Parties voluntarily agree to aid and assist each other when appropriate during an active incident. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, as follows: Section 1. Approves the Intergovernmental Agreement, attached hereto. Section 2. Authorizes the Fire Chief, or designee, to execute the Intergovernmental Agreement. Section 3. Authorizes and directs the various City officers and employees to perform all acts necessary to give effect to this Resolution.
