RESOLUTION NO. 5485

A RESOLUTION OF THE CHANDLER CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZING
THE CITY TO ENTER INTO A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE
FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION (FAA) TO ACCEPT A GRANT
IN. AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $300,000 FOR THE
RECONSTRUCTION OF DRAINAGE HEADWALLS ON RUNWAY 4L-22R
AT CHANDLER MUNICIPAL AIRPORT; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE THE GRANT AGREEMENT
AND ALL OTHER DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECT THE
AGREEMENT

WHEREAS, the City of Chandler (City) owns the Chandler Municipal Airport (Airport); and

WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) periodically programs funds to
municipal airport facilities through its grant programs; and

WHERBAS, the FAA requires the City as the Aixport Sponsor to sign grant agreements
accepting said grants; and

WHEREAS, the FAA notified City Staff that the City is eligible to receive a grant in a sum not
to exceed $300,000; and.

WHEREAS, the FAA grant will provide funding necessary for the completion of the
reconstruction of drainage headwalls on Runway 4L-22R; and

WHEREAS, to secure such grant funding, the City will accept the grant offer in a not to exceed
amount.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona
as follows:

Section 1. Approves and authorizes the City of Chandler, to accept an FAA grant offer and
agreement in an amount not to exceed $300,000 for the reconstruction of drainage
headwalls on Runway 4L-22R.

Section 2. Authorizes the City Manager, or designee, to execute an FAA grant offer and
agreement in an amount not to exceed $300,000 for the reconstruction of drainage
headwalls on Runway 4L-22R, and all other documents necessary to effect the
agreement.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, this day
of May, 2021.
