Date: March 22, 2021 To: Kim Moyers, City of Chandler Cultural Development Director From: Mary Murphy-Bessler, DCCP Executive Director RE: Extension of Street Dining Program The Downtown Chandler Community Partnership received several inquiries from downtown restaurants and property owners requesting the Downtown Street Dining Program be extended past the May 31, 2020 program timeline. Based on these requests, the DCCP staff produced a survey that was sent to all Downtown property owners, businesses and staff to determine the level of interest to extend the program. The survey results were presented to the DCCP Board of Directors at their March 19th Board of Directors meeting. Based on the significant investment by the business/property owners in building the street patios and the 78.85% approval rating to extend the program, the DCCP Board of Directors respectfully recommends a one-year extension of the Street Dining program to May 31, 2022 and propose the program be evaluated to continue on an annual basis. I have attached the survey results along with an email from Gavin Jacobs, owner of the Hidden House and Brickyard who was unable to take the survey.
