Christensen, Nightwalk LLC, has filed a Use Permit, extension of premise with the City of Chandler’s Planning Division to extend use of SoHo63’s Series 6 liquor license #06070690, off Boston Street, to the exterior of the building, on the sidewalk, on the West side of the main entrance to encompass the sidewalk similar to what has been approved by neighboring businesses along Boston St. in Downtown Chandler. The area is approximately 425 sq. ft. and will be defined by an iron gate, resembling the decorative main front and rear iron doors. The gated area will have two egresses and will have seating and standing accommodations pending the event needs. The proposed gated area is only to the West side of the facility, not on the east side. This will allow ample area for pedestrians to walk unaffected and unrestricted. SoHo63 is a wedding, meeting and event venue with functions traditionally taking place over the weekend evenings. Hours of operation are from 9am-12am and the patio will be used for a short time between 4pm-7pm, usually only for 1 hour. SoHo63 typically has at least 4 staff managing each event. This request for a gated area on the sidewalk is compatible with other area restaurants and bars nearby and on this street. The use will be to extend the indoor area with an outdoor area through an existing doorway. There will not be any live entertainment within this area.
