This method was also used to train newly hired employees in the City’s monthly New Employee Safety Training. - By partnering with the City’s Organizational Development, virtual learning was achieved by using the City’s online learning system, LEAF. Employees could access safety content on City issued laptops or mobile devices as well as personal devices regardless of their physical locations. 2021 Training Calendar January- Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention (Proper Lifting, Carrying and Handling) February- Electrical Safety March- Hazard Communication/Hazwoper (Wellness: National Nutrition Month!) April- Heat Stress Prevention May- #Wateryoudoing – Water Safety and Drowning Prevention Month June- Wellness: Blood Pressure Awareness and Stroke Prevention July- Workplace Violence Prevention August- Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control September- Respiratory Protection + Citywide Fit Testing October- Hearing Protection & Conservation November- Cold and Flu Prevention December- Driver Safety COVID-19 - Safety and Occupational Health Team continue to monitor CDC guidelines. - The team continues to address questions daily, monitor positive cases and pending test results, schedule testing for employees, and ensuring personal protective equipment replenished with fresh stock from Central Supply. - The City’s “COVID-19 Update” Intranet page is updated to reflect any changes made by the City Manager or guidance made by the CDC. - Employee protocols are updated as CDC guidelines are updated and posted on the City’s Intranet for all employees to view in an effort to mitigate the impact of COVID-19.
