RESOLUTION NO, 5515

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER,
ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE
GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OF HIGHWAY SAFETY FOR THE FISCAL
FEDERAL YEAR 2022 AWARD IN THE AREA OF OCCUPANT
PROTECTION TO CONTINUE THE CHILD SAFETY SEAT CLINIC
PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $29,311.

WHEREAS, the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) sought proposals from state and
- local agencies for projects relating to all aspects of highway safety; and

WHEREAS, the Chandler Fire Department (CFD) submitted a request for grant funding to the
GOHS to continue its Child Safety Seat Clinics and seat installations by the Department’s child
passenger safety technicians; and

WHEREAS, the GOHS has informed CFD that it is eligible for $29,311 with no matching
requirement; and

WHEREAS, CFD has determined that it can comply with the terms of the Grant Application
Agreement requirements,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chandler,
Arizona, as follows: '

Section 1. Accepts the GOHS Occupant Protection grant funds from GOHS in the amount of
$29,311, and will comply with the Grant Agreement requirements associated with
such grant.

Section 2. Authorizes the Fire Chief, or designee, to take such actions necessary to
implement the provisions of this Grant Agreement.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, this
