RESOLUTION NO. 5550 
 
RESOLUTION NO. 5550 APPROVING THE CITY OF CHANDLER TITLE VI 
IMPLEMENTATION PLAN FOR TRANSIT SERVICES 2021 UPDATE. 
 
WHEREAS, Title VI is a Federal statute which states that, “no person shall, on the grounds of 
race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be 
subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance;” 
and 
 
WHEREAS, the City of Phoenix is the region's designated recipient of federal transit funding, and 
the City of Chandler is subrecipient; and 
 
WHEREAS, as a recipient of Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funding, the City is required 
to update its Title VI Implementation Plan (the “Plan”) every three years; and 
 
WHEREAS, the City’s Plan was last updated in 2018; and 
 
WHEREAS, FTA requires Title VI Program Updates to be approved by the recipient’s 
governing body; and 
 
WHEREAS, new Title VI Program Updates have been incorporated into the Plan. 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, 
as follows:  
 
Section 1. 
Authorizes and approves the Title VI Implementation Plan for Transit Services, 
with Title VI Program Updates for 2021, as set forth in Exhibit A, attached hereto 
and incorporated herein by this reference. 
 
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, this _____ day
