Pursuant to Resolution No. 4464 of the City of Chandler and to A.R.S. 38-431.02,
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the members of the DOMESTIC VIOLENCE COMMISSION
and to the general public that the DOMESTIC VIOLENCE COMMISSION will hold a
meeting open to the public on Wednesday, January 12, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., via
WEBEX, in Chandler, AZ.
(Agendas are available in the Office of the City Clerk, 175 S. Arizona Avenue.)
Persons with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation such as a sign
language interpreter by contacting the City Clerk's office at (480) 782-2181 (711 via
AZRS). Requests should be made as early as possible to allow time to arrange

2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
a. MOTION by Commissioner Curtis to approve minutes from November 10,
2021. SECONDED by Commissioner Lynn. APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY
3. SCHEDULED/UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC APPEARANCES/CALL TO PUBLIC
(Members of the audience may address any item not on the agenda. State Statute
prohibits the Domestic Violence Commission from discussing an item that is not
on the agenda, but the Domestic Violence Commission does listen to your
concerns and has staff follow up on any questions you raise.)
4. DISCUSSION AGENDA
a. January 15, 2022- Multicultural Festival – The Domestic Violence Commission
will not be participating this year due to rising numbers of COVID and concern
for exposure.
b. February – Teen Dating Awareness Month and Healthy Relationship activity
for CUSD partnered with Kaity’s Way – Firstly, Kaity’s Way is now under New Life
Center. Chair Knape, Commissioner Hinchey, and Staff Liaison have all reached
out to CUSD with no response. Commission discussed additional ideas to send
social media on Healthy Relationships to CUSD and to post on the Chandler
Police Facebook. Commissioners will view the website “Love Is Respect” to find
social media postings. Commissioners discussed speaking at a CUSD Board
meeting February 9. Talking points will be shared at the February Domestic
Violence Commission Meeting.
5. MEMBERS COMMENTS / ANNOUNCEMENTS
Arizona Children’s Association – Hiring new staff to fill vacancies and continuing
to work with clients and ensure their needs are met
My Sister’s Place – Thank you to the community for the holiday donations to the
Pathways Program. Pilot program with Maricopa County Public Health started
last year is testing DV clients for COVID prior to entering shelters. If test positive,
individual is safely relocated and housed in an isolation hotel where they still
receive telephonic case management services until are healthy to enter My
Sister’s Place.
Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence – Quarterly, the coalition
hosts a community partner addressing domestic violence meetings. Upcoming
and past trainings include Teen Dating Violence, Teens and Tech, Reproductive
Justice series, and 40 Training.
