RESOLUTION NO. 5555

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER,
ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING A VISIT ARIZONA INITIATIVE MARKETING
GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF ARIZONA OFFICE OF
TOURISM.

WHEREAS, the Arizona Office of Tourism (AOT) through the Visit Arizona Initiative (VAI)
supports efforts to execute targeted tourism marketing plans to bring visitors to destinations across
the state of Arizona; and

WHEREAS, the City of Chandler Economic Development department submitted an application
for marketing grant funding to AOT for the expansion of marketing efforts to reach meeting
professionals and travelers; and

WHEREAS, AOT has informed the City of Chandler that it is eligible for $248,824 with no
matching requirement; and

WHEREAS, the City of Chandler has determined that it can comply with the terms of the VAI
Marketing Grant Agreement requirements.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona,
as follows:

Section 1. Accepting the Visit Arizona Initiative Marketing Grant funds from AOT in the
amount of $248,824, and the requirements associated with such grant.

Section 2. Authorizing the City Manager to execute the Visit Arizona Initiative Marketing
Grant Agreement No. GR-ARPA-11112021-02-002 in substantially the form
attached as Exhibit “A”.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, this 24th day of
March, 2022.
