Second by Commissioner Lim. Carried unanimously. Public Appearance at Chandler City Council on February 10, 2022 Motion to approve public appearance at Chandler City Council Regular meeting on February 10, 2022, to raise awareness about February – National Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month Motion by Commissioner Knape. Second By Commissioner Lynn. Carried unanimously. Public appearance at Chandler Unified School District Board Meeting Motion for Domestic Violence Commission to have public appearance at the Chandler Unified School District Board meeting on February 9, 2022 to raise awareness about February – National Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month Motion by Commissioner Hinchey. Second by Commissioner Lynn. Carried unanimously. Discussion March – National Women’s History Month – Activities and social media posts National Network to End Domestic Violence has a timeline online. Women of Color Network has information. Vice Chair requested Commissioners bring a resource to review at March meeting. Annual Domestic Violence Awareness Event – September 2022 – September 28, 2022 10 a.m., Commissioner Lynn will work with Commissioner Gannon. DV Commissioners will seek out speakers, music and prayer. Commissioner Hinchey will check on someone for the invocation. Discussion took place about agencies to speak, conducting a hybrid event enabling people to attend virtually, and music options. Commissioner spoke about Shockwave, a veteran agency. Social Media postings for Chandler Police Department and Chandler Unified School District – Chair and Commissioners will send postings to staff liaison. Chandler Unified School District – Healthy Relationship activities for February to raise awareness for Nations Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month – High schools are responding and requesting dates to be extended through March of 2022. Suggestion for outreach to junior high schools next year.
