RESOLUTION NO. 5577

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANDLER,
ARIZONA AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING TWO INTERGOVERNMENTAL
AGREEMENTS (IGA) BETWEEN THE CITY OF CHANDLER AND MARICOPA
COUNTY FOR ANIMAL CARE AND CONTROL SERVICE AND ANIMAL
SHELTERING.

WHEREAS, Maricopa County Animal Care and Control (MCACC) wishes to enter into two IGAs
with the City of Chandler one for the provision of animal control services and one for sheltering; and

WHEREAS, the City of Chandler, through its Police Department, wishes to have MCACC provide
animal control services and sheltering for the citizens of Chandler.

NOW, THERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona as
follows:

Section]. THAT approval is granted for the City of Chandler to have MCACC provide animal control
services and sheltering for the citizens of Chandler.

Section I]. THAT the City Manager/Designee is appointed agent for the City of Chandler, to
administer, execute and submit all documents and any other necessary instruments in
connection with said Agreement. The City Manager/Designee is authorized to approve and
execute, on behalf of the City of Chandler, the third, fourth and fifth one-year extensions
if the cost does not exceed ten percent of the initial term cost.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Chandler, Arizona, this day
of April 2022.
